Introduction
A new 52 kV 0.1 Hz FLV Test Set is now available, which is based on the well proven 0.1 Hz trapezoidal wave shape technology, which was patented years ago by Hagenuk KMT. The maximum cable capacity, which can be tested at 0.1 Hz is a respectable 5. The FLV test will detect weak and critical areas in PE, XLPE, and PILC cables, without causing any additional damage to the cable system

Use:
Most standards for cables and joints require a test after installation or repair of the cable. The 52 kV Test System will test 30 kV and 36 kV cables in accordance with the newest draft standard IE EE 400.2

 
 

Performance Features

The 52 kV FLV Test System is a very powerful unit at a weight of 700 lbs.

The 5 test capacity allows a drastic reduction in the
test time since all three phases can be tested simultaneously in most instances

VLF testing is the only safe and efficient method to test PE, XLPE and mixed cables.

The test voltage can be significantly reduced compared to DC hipot testing when testing PILC cables.

The 0.1 Hz trapezoidal VLF Test Equipment will detect weak and damaged areas in cables within the specified test duration

The polarity charge of the 0.1 Hz trapezoidal wave shape VLF technology happens within 5 ms, which matches that of the 60 Hz power frequencies.

The trapeziodal 0.1 Hz VLF technologies have a proven field history of ten years.

Both the U.S. and European standards recognize the 0.1 Hz FLV technologies as one of the applicable technologies for cable testing.

The technology to change polarity ( as fast as <60 Hz ) in conjunction with the energy recovery method between cycles ( both patented ) accomplishes a low weight test set with a drastically reduced power point.
