Technical Specification: Digiphone
(Pinpointer for cable fault locating )

Introduction:
The Digiphone is a very sensitive device to pinpoint and locate difficult or "quiet" faults on primary cables. Its operation is based on the "thunder & lighting" principle. The flashover at the fault will generate both a magnetic and acoustic signal. The time delay between teh two signals (speed of light vs. speed of sound) is displayed as a number on the LCD. Decreasing numbers indicate closing in on the fault. For this reason, the Digiphone will even pinpoint faults in conduit, under concrete and asphalt. It can be operated with or without headphones. The bargraph (magnetic strength indicator) enables the user to stay on top of the cable route or to locate it. The bargraph (magnetic strength indicator) enables the user to stay on top of the cable route or to locate it. The Digiphone works with any thumper.
